A huge few days

It’s a huge few days for The Gardenist in the lead up to the launch of Dream Gardens Season 2, and I thought you might like to keep up with what’s going on in case you have the chance to catch any of it.

Friday night – tonight! – there’s an extended chat on Gardening Australia in that fabulous ‘My Garden Path’ section.  I was so touched by the sensitivity and respect of the GA team when shooting this, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the end result at 7:30 this evening, 25th October (ABC & iview).

On Monday 28th October at 11:30am there’s a Facebook Live event with Jimi Turner, Director of Horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.  It’s now listed on their facebook page, and I will share in on my Facebook page on Monday. And then, at 1pm there’s a free event with Georgina Reid (from The Planthunter) and me in discussion, talking garden design, at The Calyx, The Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney.  I love the way Georgina thinks, and I love hanging out with her.  Check out my instagram post from a few days ago (@michaelmccoyongardens) to see the hilarious range of facial expressions that emerged last time we chatted before an audience. Reserve your ticket here.

On Tuesday 29th October at 8:30am I’m on ABC news Breakfast (ABC TV), and then at 11am on The Conversation Hour with Virginia Trioli (who I reckon is doing an amazing job, filling the shoes of John Faine). And then, on Tuesday evening at 8pm, is the first episode of Season 2 of Dream Gardens.  It’s been more than two and a half years since Season 1, and the great part of that is that many of the gardens had about a year of growth before we shot the ‘reveal’.  Episode 1 is about a couple who moved from Sydney to a large country block just out of Port Macquarie, but wanted to take industrial style with them.  Don’t miss it.

And then, immediately after that at 8:30pm, there’s a facebook live event on The Gardenist facebook page discussing further aspects of this episode, which is kind of fun, given that the Dream Gardens crew is in on site for at least 30 hours in order to put together a half hour show, and lots goes on that you don’t get to see!
