Hey folks, I need some advice please. We've had these Gardenia's at the front of our home for around a year now. I've lightly pruned them once. I would like them to grow as round as possible and fill out, but I'm now worried that if I cut them right back I'll ruin them. What should I do?
Hi Ciaran ,Dont be frightened to prune mate! If you want these to take on a busy standard shape then its the only way.I would suggest reducing each branch by half.Keep them well fed and watered and you should start seeing new growth which in turn will bush up ,then regular light pruning over the growing season should see them looking better.All the best!
